One eye requires two memory points minimum, enchanting skill, a crafting bench, souls, crafting resources, weapons and armor to transmute AND has fever mechanics when he dies. The difference being that the summon is just one click with no fever mechanics, and can be summoned infinitely as long as you've got magicka.
It seems like the only Phantasmalist summons that break this trend are the best ones you can get, and even then they are only good if you cheese the hell out of them with all life leech stuff.
What is the purpose of the whole skill tree if it requires such a huge investment of memory points to give you a summon that is really no better than the ones sinistra gives you?
